Songwriting Scene’s had a bit of a makeover, thanks to WordPress and my blog guru — my husband Shannon, that is. I hope you like it! Looks aside, however, the blog remains the same — after six months of blogging about songwriting, performing and the community of songwriters across the U.S. and ’round the globe, I’m still committed to bringing you as many great interviews, tips, tricks and news snippets as I can manage…while still having time to write and perform myself (oh, and earn a living during the day, I almost forgot about that little thing!).
If you haven’t checked out Songwriting Scene over the past few months, I’m really excited about what the blog has accomplished so far, including…
#1: Documenting various songwriting “scenes” in states, cities and regions around the U.S
#2: Getting-to-know-ya Q&As with top songwriters
- Jack Hardy
- Ty Greenstein of Girlyman
- Eric Hutchinson
- Antje Duvekot
- Ari Hest
#3: Songwriting tips you can use from terrificly talented songwriters, teachers and all-around-cool folks:
- Creative tips from Severin Browne (yep, Jackson’s bro!)
- Political songwriting tips from Fred Gillen
- Pat Wictor pushes you to go beyond your chord comfort zone
- Marketing must-haves from Elisa Peimer
- All about house concerts from Fran Snyder
- Eric Schwartz and the funny side of songwriting
- Sloan Wainwright chats about co-writing
I hope you’ll check out some of these posts you may have missed! And, much more to come this week and beyond!
