How you doin’ (with the songwriting challenge)? I got nuthin’…

How’s your DDOA? That is, how’s your “Dog Days of August” songwriting challenge going? Only 13 days left to e-mail me that MP3 and lyrics to songwritingscene at gmail dot com!

Ha. I should talk. I got nuthin’. See, a whole week in songwriting camp and I’m still empty. Sure, I learned a new guitar strumming pattern and I performed a bunch and I met lots of folks and I’m hosting a showcase tonight and I slept and ate and worked my day job and kissed my hubby and combed my cats…but, no August-themed song in sight. Not that I’ve looked much.

But hey, that’s the great thing about our August 31 deadline. If I have to stay up till midnight on the last day, I’ll have that song finished. It’s no 50/90 challenge (you know who you are, Canadian songwriting fiends!), but it’s something.

How about you? Any summer-themed thoughts flowing through your mind and out through your guitar (or piano…or harmonica…or ukelele) and into a high-tech recording device? Keep me updated!

    im behind on everything, including 50/90…this time of year is just so busy with vacation, getting ready for school, etc…

    crossing my fingers i can at least write on the challenge subject and have some lyrics for myself…
