Songwriting Scene was voted one of the Top 10 Must-Follow Songwriting Resources on Twitter in 2012!
Songwriting Scene is a blog for songwriters about songwriting written by singer-songwriter Sharon Goldman. That’s me! Here at Songwriting Scene, you’ll find tips and tricks, conversations and discussions, thoughts and links related to songwriting, performing your original tunes and sharing them with others.
I have been a singer-songwriter for the past 13 years and have released five albums. If you’re curious, you can listen to my tunes on my website.
I just finished recording a new record, SILENT LESSONS, that will be released in January. Here’s a sneak peek:
More random stuff about me: I was a finalist in the 2011 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artists showcase, which was fun. I am also a member of a variety of songwriting “scenes” and communities, including the late Jack Hardy’s Songwriter’s Exchange, the SummerSongs community, Folk Alliance and a regular “chick” songwriting gathering in NYC we call “Chicks with Dip.”
I perform in a variety of venues (house concerts, coffee shops, small clubs, church series, the occasional street corner) a few times a month. My musical interests are diverse, from folk and blues to country, indie pop and introspective singer-songwriter stuff. I’m open to listening and chatting and writing about anything related to songwriting overall.
In my other “life” I have been a freelance writer and editor for over 15 years, writing for magazines, newspapers, websites and corporate entities. I’m also a certified Pilates instructor, an amateur bird-watcher, a fast typist, a newbie gardener, a karaoke fan and a proud Auntie.
I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to reach out at songwritingscene at gmail dot com!
